Etsy Shop Open

So its taken a while for me to join the wonderful and amazing handmade market place Etsy. Its an amazing site and I am always truly inspired by what people create and sell on there. Anyway my site is very new and currently I'm only listing a few felt bags for children featuring the cute Hello Kitty character. These are a recent addition to my handmade items that were suggested to me that I create. There will be plenty pieces of my work added over the next few weeks so keep an eye on the shop for paper cuts, greetings cards, key rings and an array of handmade items from me. Enjoy. http://www.etsy.com/shop/JenniferKatyDesigns

Starting School Book

A recent brief I received was to produce a How to guide. I decided to produce a guide for children when starting school. The idea was that parents could read the book to the child to reassure them about their first day at school. The illustrations were kept simple using my paper cutting technique. I also used a child friendly colour palette for the book. Here's a selection of the books pages in production.

Dissertation

After months of working on my dissertation its finally written, designed, printed and beautifully bound. My dissertation explored the portrayal of women in advertising. Focusing on the role of the housewife portrayed both today and throughout history. The design I used on my dissertation is inspired by the 1950s in which the housewife image was at its peak. Heres a selection of the pages.
